Montgomery Plaza has long since been a desirable location for restaurants. Centrally located inn the city and surrounded by tons of great places to eat and things to do. This doesn’t however guarantee success. Located in the corner spot next to Sushi Axiom, M Bistro aims to break the bad luck streak of its location’s reputation.
If any restaurant is going to be able to stay in this location it is M Bistro. The owners of M Bistro bring with them the experience of other Fort Worth staples such as Fuzzy’s, Yucatan Taco Stand, and Lucille’s. This level of experience and know how will give them an edge to keep their restaurant running at peak performance.
M Bistro has just recently completed it’s soft opening. We were able to sneak in during the soft opening to get a peak at what they were cooking up. The redesign of the restaurant feels very clean and modern with a rustic vibe to it. In essence, the decor kind of describes Fort Worth as well as M Bistro.
My wife and I ordered a little bit of a smorgasbord of options during out date night to try and truly experience everything. During our meal we tried:
- Bistro Carpaccio – Incredible thin slices of steak. It comes served with pickled onions and a delicious dijon sauces.
- Crispy Fried Oysters – Delicious fried oyster on a bed of caramelized onions and drizzled with the same dijon sauce as the carpaccio.
- Angry Lobster – Lobster tail on a bed of mussels and shrimp which is on top of a bed of pasta. Layers of delicious covered with a white wine tomato sauce.
Chicken Chardonnay – Bone in chicken that was cooked perfectly. Served with jasmine rice, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, mushrooms, and a white wine sauce I could have drank with a straw.
After dinner we were barely able to eat anything else but M Bistro recommended that we try the dessert. So we did. Thank God we listened to them. We were brought a dessert of freshly made waffles lightly dusted in cinnamon sugar, candied pecans, home made whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and a homemade caramel made with TX Whiskey. I will pause to let that set in.
I KNOW RIGHT?! TX WHISKEY IN THE CARAMEL ON FRESHLY MADE DESSERT WAFFLES! Needless to say it was absolutely incredible.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our meal. M Bistro is a place that we will definitely look to go back. In addition to dinner, they are also beginning a weekend brunch menu complete with a Bloody Mary Buffet. If you have anyone in your family who likes Bloody Mary’s (my dad) then be sure to check them out!
