2020 is the year of pivoting. We have pivoting from at work to at home. We have pivoted to being fully shut down to half open. We have pivoted from in-person events to many, many, many heartache-full cancellations.
What has astonished me though, are the many foundations that have pivoted in a way that fits our new, unprecedented circumstances. Enter The Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival. Their Festival this past Spring was initially postponed and is now being used to fit the purpose of supporting the local restaurants that have had the wind completely knocked out of them. They have created a separate, “Eat. Drink. Cowtown” event October 19-25th in which locals are encouraged to order the specials of the week and eat local to support our local gems during this chaotic time.
Eat. Drink. Cowtown is a week long celebration of our culinary community. From curbside specials to perfect pairings, your local food and beverage faves will be giving you the most delicious ways to help keep Fort Worth strong. Now is our time to use our foodie dreams to keep our favorites afloat. They’re counting on us.

Hello Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Friends, As you know from our previous emails in March, April and June, the 2020 Forth Worth Food + Wine Festival was postponed, then cancelled. If you requested your refund by the April 15, 2020 date, your refunds were sent. If you did not request a refund, the sales were donated to the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation. They were also not transferable to any future festival events. Though we are not going to be able to get together for a 2020 Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival, we hope you will join us in continuing to celebrate the Fort Worth food + beverage community. In 2020, the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation redirected its support to the local restaurant industry, providing more than $106,000 in restaurant employee relief during the COVID-19 crisis to date. Those of you who elected to donate your 2020 FWFWF ticket money, have helped make the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund a success. Ongoing fundraising continues to provide financial relief to local food-and-beverage industry employees suffering hardships during the pandemic. To donate to the relief fund, click here. With the cancellation of the festival, we have been organizing a week-long celebration called EAT. DRINK. COWTOWN. From Monday, October 19, 2020 – Sunday, October 25, 2020, Fort Worth can enjoy curbside or delivery specials, unique pairings, and more, from participating restaurants and bars. We’re showcasing all the good things to eat and drink around town while reminding the community how incredible and important our local restaurants and bars are. We created this event to get people out in the community to spend money with local establishments. Find out more about EAT. DRINK. COWTOWN. here.
