There’s “Brunch”… and then there’s Brunch.

Yes.

Thanks to Tim Love, in the middle of Fort Worth, we have Gemelle – a truly excellent Euro-American Brunch experience that has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat each Sunday. Despite the temperatures being close to Hades we packed up the kids, placed on our masks, and decided to try something new. After having our temperatures recorded at the front door, we walked outside to their patio and were greeted with happy service, a gorgeous herb garden, and a setting fit for a movie.

My girl and Gemelle’s absolutely superb Gospel Brunch crew. This is Sheran Godspeed Keyton, her band, and her children all singing/playing with her.

Better yet, they had (and have had for the past few weeks) a Gospel Brunch performance with Sheran Godspeed Keyton and her band from 11am-2pm that completely encapsulated the experience.

Now don’t get me wrong. We only had a party of six (including the kids) but we ordered enough food for about ten. It’s for the blog…so calories don’t count, right? Even if they do, this food was so delicious we can discount the carb loading.

Harrison was our waiter and man-oh-man does he know the Gemelle like the back of his hand. The next time you visit, ask for him because his service is truly top notch and the cherry on top to create the perfect foodie experience.

Gemelle is Italian for ‘twin girls’. Tim Love not only has twins girls, but you’ll beautiful silhouettes throughout the restaurant representing his daughters.

Now for the food. We started with their 18 month Prosciutto, Finocchinoa, Salami, Mortadella. As you can see by this tiny guys’ mischievous eyes, everything went quickly. The last thing you see on the board after the meats were actually pickled pears that brought the entirety of these tastes together. We also ordered the Hand Battered Mozzarella and Fresh Eggplant Sticks in Marinara Sauce initially thinking the kids would ‘go to town’. My husband and dad took one bite of each and instantly the adults took over this dish while simultaneously ordering more.

Now Gemelle is known for their Crudo. Each day they have a new version of this raw fish appetizer that mixes a deluxe array of tastes, herbs, fruits, and flavors. Personally I ordered this as my appetizer and the only reason I shared was because my mama gave me her puppy dog eyes.

Amidst our appetizer gorging, Harrison brought fresh Bloody Marys and Mimosas to help us combat the heat. Let’s just say were were already blown away by the ambiance, flavors, and music. We let him know we were in this for the long haul. Imagine this, Sheran and her crew are singing incredible Gospel music, the kids are running through a fresh herb garden picking and smelling different pieces (with permission), and all adults had a drink in hand surrounded by fans to combat the heat. Bocce Ball, ping pong, and a foosball table are scattered amongst the beauty for extra fun. You can see it can’t you? It was what my personal brunch dreams are made of.

Mimosas with only a splash of fresh orange juice for color – as it should be.

We each ordered our entrees. For the ladies we ordered a mixture of the Quinoa Salad and Chicken Scallopini with a side of the Roasted Garlic and Parmesan Breadsticks. Y’all. BREADSTICKS. These were served with a side of pesto and were worth every carb I avoided last week. Truly. I know breadsticks sounds like a weird thing to be excited about but you could tell they were freshly-made and the combination of the flavors was truly impeccable. Even our sweet girl was psyched about them and you better believe we’ll be back (sooner rather than later) for more.

Now for the guys. They tend to copy each other and in this case, there was no exception. They both ordered the Sunday Special of Seared Pork Osso Buco with Soft Polenta (they added truffle in to the Polenta courtesy of Harrison’s recommendation), and a Parsley Citrus Salad. Now these two know their Osso Buco and they both agreed that this contained better flavor and texture than the version they had each had together at a high end restaurant in Las Vegas. Fort Worth beats Las Vegas. I like it. Harrison even allowed us to save the bones for our dog back at home. Let’s just say thanks to him she had the greatest weekend she has had in a very long time.

”Better Than Vegas” Osso Buco, Soft Polenta (with added truffle), Parsley Citrus Salad
Chicken Scallopini, Arugula, Grapefruit Supremes, Grana Padano

As we ate our entree, Sheran took her mid-show break and given that we were comfortable outside (despite the heat), happy as clams with our food, and had also been handed a dessert menu we decided to wait until she returned. We ordered two Affogatos (they were out of their homemade Vanilla Gelato so we opted for Chocolate), a Milanese Morning Cold Brew Cocktail, a Tiramasu (traditionally and beautifully made), and the Poached Pear with Honey, Ginger, and Cinnamon with an Almond Crumble. All Of the desserts were beautiful and delicious. The best surprise was the Poached Pear. The presentation was beautiful but the flavors were perfectly simple and uncomplicated. After so much food this was the perfect ending to our meal because it wasn’t overly sweet.

Afogato with Chocolate Gelato (espresso over ice cream)

Folks, as the weather cools down this place will be slammed. I promise you their patio is surrounded in fans and the ambiance truly makes any drops of sweat worth it. The food was fresh, exceptional, and an instant absolute favorite of ours. Gemelle, you have blown us away and we can’t wait to return…particularly to try the Frozen Aperol Spritz you are so well-known for.

So there you have it Fort Worth! Get out there and eat it!

I’m in Fort Worth and need…
